See, I cannot buy that.
There was a secret in the White House in the 90's that only 3 people knew about. Only 3. But it still got out. How? Because the juicer the secret, the greater chance that someone will talk. This was the Monika Lewinski scandal.
MKUltra, The XYZ Affair, The Eaton Affair, The Crédit Mobilier Scandal, Teapot Dom, Watergate, Iran-Contra... Yet, there is a group with the ability to censor without anyone knowing? How?
If I apply Occam's razer, what would be the easier thing to believe? Information cabal controlling information for the elite or that special interest groups are just manipulating easily verifiable facts to suite their own ends to people who want desperately to be right or feel like they need some kind of control over their lives?

When i say censorship i dont mean it completely doesnt exist. Basically with censorship the goal isnt to get rid of it, its the ability to stop the spread of information. If someone told you big foot existed you wouldng believe them but then the government releases documents about big foot now its believable because the source is more legitimate. Same concept applies.
If the news stations publish a story on something but google wipes any search results leading to that, people are less inclined to go searching for it and assumenit to be false because all these other outlets say otherwise and you can find them easily. Its not even a conspiracy theory either. Child pornography exists on the clear web and sexually suggestive videos of minors exist on things like youtube but if you search it m up you wont find it. Unles ofc you stumble onto it. Bing had a debacle about a certain phrase bringing up child pornography but it was uder something obscure. These corporations have the ability to censor stuff. Its not impossible.

Well and also, back in the Lewinski scandal, that was when the internet was just getting widespread, virtually still had afterbirth all over it from Al Gore. (2000 election... anyone? anyone?)
I posted a video of Monica's Ted Talk she did XXX pages ago and that's the very thing she tackles, is how the news media has changed because of the internet.
It's on page 364

"At the age of 22 I fell in love with my boss. And at the age of 24, I learned the devastating consequences.
Can I see a show of hands of anyone here who didn’t make a mistake or do something they regretted at 22? Yep, that’s what I thought. So like me, at 22, a few of you may have taken wrong turns and fallen in love with the wrong person. Maybe even your boss.
Unlike me, your boss probably wasn’t the President of the United States of America.
Of course, life is full of surprises.
Not a day goes by that I am not reminded of my mistake. And I regret that mistake deeply.
In 1998, after having been swept up into an improbable romance, I was then swept up into the eye of a political, legal and media maelstrom like we had never seen before. Remember, just a few years earlier, news was consumed in just three places: reading a newspaper or magazine, listening to a radio, or watching television. That was it.
This rush to judgement enabled by technology led to mobs of virtual stone-throwers. Granted, it was before social media, but people could still comment online, email stories and of course, email cruel jokes. News sources plastered photos of me all over to sell newspapers, banner ads online, and to keep people tuned to the TV.
Do you recall a particular image of me, say, wearing a beret? Now, I admit I made mistakes, especially wearing that beret. But the attention an judgement I received, not the story, but that I personally received, was unprecedented.
I was branded as a tramp. Tart. Slut. Whore. Bimbo. And, of course, “That Woman”. I was seen by many, but actually known by few. And I get it. It was easy to forget that “that woman” was dimensional, had a soul, and was once unbroken."

@verucassault, Yeah, I'm not going to argue. She definitely has a lot come out of the situation. I'd rather leave her alone on the basis of a personal philosophy of non-judgment.
My point is that secrets are hard to keep. And the more people who are in on it, the harder it is to keep.

I think it is less about the availability of secrets and more of the media's willingness to report on such matters. If they do not report on events then a majority of the people will not hear about it. It is the unfortunate thing that people don't bother to do their own research. Hell, they don't even read the article or listen to it, they look at the headline and assume that is what is going on.
