@alephy grrrr. there are SO many things to address there.
people aren't born a 'blue' life. that is chosen. people do not choose to be born a certain race. that is circumstance. the fact that you don't see how inappropriate it is to talk about the two in the same capacity/breath shows your lack of sensitivity to the plight of groups like BLM.
although it's a matter of opinion that "all cops are pigs", it's a very valid opinion to have. they are objectively class traitors. even the nicest police officer who would lay his life on the line every day for his community is a class traitor and perpetrates the will of our capitalist overlords. that is fact, of which we can gladly debate if you so desire.
doesn't mean that those people are bad people, they are confused. and in that confusion there are many valid frustrations that us as citizens can have with the state of police in the US: lack of proper training in diffusion/crisis management, lack of education in general, lack of proper psych background checks and psych help, and i'm sure a bunch of other shit. those things add up to paint a very lame picture of police in america. that there is much room for improvement in how we police our communities, that is an undeniable fact as well.
but hey, i do see what you're saying. our echo-chambers are different. i like mine because everyone here clearly cares more about community and working together than sequestering off into hermitized/individualistic nuclear households, at least is how i tend to see it. you're going to have to do better than that to get me to leave! *mua ha ha*

Well that is assuming that Todd Knickerson is telling the truth. For all we know, he could be lying. However there have been examples of pedophiles who know it's wrong and have gone to seek out treatment. Biggest problem is that we don't know how many are out there and we don't know the ratio of them who seek treatment or do not offend and those who for lack of a better word, give into temptations. We have a lack of information and that is the issue at hand.

True. I didn't feel it necessary to point that out, though, it being a given. I was actually looking for a different video when I stumbled across that one. There is this young youtuber dude who does interviews with people who are overlooked in society and the pedo in particular was a pretty young guy. He seemed sincere about being virtuos and seeking help for his issue. Those type of people should be embraced into society and not ostricized like the ones that are of course found out and caught. The positive reinforcement and encouragement could keep them on the straight and narrow.

Lack of sensitivity is an emotional argument. No matter how well structure an argument may be. If the rational argument does not take into account the sensitivity of a certain group. Rational arguments be damned. You argue that one should not make rational arguments because it might offend the plight of a certain group of people. Bite your tongue because rational thought might offend people. That is completely nonsensical. Let me clarify my point even further. I never stated they are equivalent movements. Of course they are not equivalent. There are certain bad actors that only say blue lives matter just to stick to black lives matter. I am not one of those bad actors. I can stand back and look at both groups and critically analyze them. These are the good parts here. These are the bad parts here. Those are the good parts over there. Those are the bad parts over there. Critically analyzing both movements does not mean that they are automatically equal. Get that nonsensical notion out of your head.
You stated that "even the nicest police officer who would lay his life on the line every day for his community is a class traitor and perpetrates the will of our capitalist overlords. that is fact". No, that is an opinion. Remember our talk about truth. That is your own personal truth. Not an absolute truth. Let us take what you stated. "Even the nicest police officers perpetrate the will of our capitalist overlords. " Let us find the nicest police officers and apply your logic. But first, let us define who those so called capitalist overlords are. Which is nothing more then capitalist companies like, Apple, Nike, Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, Nintendo, Ford, etc. Capitalist companies are our so called capitalist overlords.

How is he perpetuating the will of our capitalist overlords? Did apple (the biggest capitalist company in the world) call him and command him to arrest anyone that is not using an iPhone? Perhaps by eating dunking donuts. He is perpetuating the will of a capitalist donut company? Maybe by skating, his perpetuating the will of the capitalist skateboarding companies? How is this nice police officer perpetuating the will of our capitalist overlords? @frozenxheavens

I mean. You know something is wrong with the people when they see the debates just to see their candidate owning the other.

I think what Frozen meant is that the cops' real job is to maintain the ruling status quo that "has" glaring aversion to ghetto black men or "inferior rabble" just taking their place.
Which doesn't really make sense due to their open support to these causes because its profitable in the long run.

@alephy yes, those rational arguments be damned, precisely. we clearly disagree here, which is ok!
as people are beings of emotion, i think any rational argument would at least take into fair account the past/present/future state of involved individual's emotions. forgive me for being wrong to you in that regard =p
i think that it's naive to say that it is always time to slam 'rational' arguments in ppl's faces. just being pragmatic about it: if someone is too emotionally charged to hear jarring arguments, but not so distraught that they aren't violent towards themselves or anyone else around them, i think the most rational and profound thinker would have to concede that another way is going to be more effective in aiding those 'disillusioned' ppl to see one's own 'hyper-rational' views.
and i wasn't trying to imply you considered them equivalent movements! i'm just saying it is HARSHLY insensitive to BLM ppl when white ppl (or anyone) even talk about 'blue lives' in any amount. because they CHOSE that 'blue life'. it doesn't even matter if you say 'blue lives matter'. if one refers to a police officer as a 'blue life' they contribute to the divide-and-conquer disinformation insensitive cesspit that is current 'rational' discourse. i genuinely feel it is both insensitive AND irrational to refer to the police as 'blue lives'. just call them law enforcement officers or police. pigs works well too. class traitor is great! but ultimately something that reminds us that police are also human beings would be nice, obviously.
although i will admit, being so emotional and disgusted with that also contributes to divisiveness in the same exact same way, and just further polarizes the lower classes into angry shitters that hate each other. so i get it. it really is an 'us vs. them' but the 'us' has it very confused and both the left and right arms of 'us' are slapping ourselves and it's fucking obnoxious. so don't think i'm not frustrated with you, i'm just a bit more sensitive is all =p
and to answer the other shit, we need to move this to debate or something, i could yell at you all day about how cops are class traitors, no matter how kind they are. by being a part of that police state, they contribute to wealth not being able to be/harder to be redistributed. so yeah....haha. not exactly the biggest fan of free-enterprise, so that's a whole OTHER conversation too.
