2020 US Presidential Election

Thats the thing you guys dont understand....mutually assured destruction would come from a nuclear attack. Im not throwing that in the ring. Think smarter. I dont think anyone is that stupid especially since america is sitting pretty well. Countries like china and russia have a disadvantage because while US homeland is in a spot that puts them far away from an organized attack from a foreign military (that coupled with the fact we have troops in areas literally readily available if things pop off) you could lose in that instance. Why i feel like having an insider in our political office (not accusing anyone) make changes that diminishes the forces in areas that could swiftly hit your homeland that gives you the upper hand. Then with china building artificial islands effectively blocking off trade routes and increasing their territory they can stop our ships from mobilizing in that area and planes as well. The goal here isnt to use nuclear weapons because all of the super powers have them and we can allbuse them...but depending on who does what first can then play a big oart in world politics not just war between two countries.

What is the neurological action that I must perform to think smarter? "Thinking smarter " is not a smart statement. Mutually assured destruction does not negate the possibility over a possible WWIII. It almost happened during the Cuban missile crisis. A Soviet submarine nearly launched a nuclear-tipped torpedo. Do you not think that a similar scenario can repeat itself? It might not happen within our life times. Maybe it won't happen within your children's life time. It is impossible to know when it will happen. It is only a function of time before WWIII happens. It will truly be a nuclear war.

No one knows for certain if things will play out to be nuclear unless the fall of a nation occurs. If a war were to ensue and one side admit defeat or come to a peace agreement which usually happens then no nuclear war. That is seen as an end all solution neither party wins due to its not solely an us and them situation nuclear war involves the entire world. Not only due to destruction of the planet and potentially other countries near them but that it violates agreements where most developed countries agreed on

honestly @alephy i think that there is going to be enough laser defense tech soon enough to stop ICBM or any other rocket-powered weapons of mass destruction at present. i think there needs to be another advancement in mass-killing technology before a M.A.D. scenario is properly enacted. maybe some orbital laser S.O.L shit from akira but with more 'nuclear' capabilities. just my take tho!

@frozenxheavens Orbital laser is inefficient and not worth it. Getting a giant fresnel lens up in orbit and concentrating sunlight to burn away targets is much more efficient. However lasers destroying missiles only really works at this point for the boosters. The warheads and reentry vehicles are much harder to destroy and on top of that they are planned to be launched en masse, so it would require a significant amount of lasers to stop such an attack. Ultimately the situation at hand is that every country with nuclear weapons has a cocked gun aimed at everyone, but is unwilling to pull the trigger. We haven't had any issues with this system for the better part of 60 years and have learned to use diplomacy instead of "the button".

Nuclear warfare seems to be everyone's go to because of how destructive it is. And how that land becomes unusable for decades. But then that doesnt help anyone because now you lose out on resources and such in a market where supplies are already growing limited. I feel a biological attack is the route people will go in the future. The only issue is it is unbiased. Sure you can make it target a certain demographic but it can also mutate and spread outside that.

@dyadka_yar there is something wildly poetic about having a giant magnifying glass in orbit burning down the little ants below. that's wild! and yeah i don't really know much about military tech, just what i speculate based on what i've seen in news/pop culture so my view is not really based on a lot of facts. and yup gotta love diplomacy! maybe one of the bigger reasons I feel like trump may not be the best choice haha. he's a bit too heavy-handed to be called a 'diplomat' imo
