North Korea has 1.2 Million active troops plus 600,000 in reserve as well as conscription forces estimated to be around 7 million. 4,300 tanks, 2,500 IFVs/APCs, around 900 aircraft. North Korea due to their questionable equipment as well as poorly kept forces lowers the effectiveness of this numerical advantage. This is why I give 20% better odds to South Korea. If North Korea moves quickly enough into populated areas then South Korea would have a damn hard time getting them out.

But he chose the worst time to attack, because he was too hasty to conquer the Soviets and believed he could prove once and for all the "aryan superiority", despite them being so poorly equipped to the terrain. When shit got messy, he could've listened his generals and allowed retreat, but he decided to pull a Stalin and threaten to kill everyone who retreated. Why? Because "it's better to die than to face one's betrayal to their country"
