@momoichi In a 1v1 fight, North Korea could possibly win with tactical nuclear options as well as long range artillery that can hit Seoul from the border. It is a 35-65 fight in favor of South Korea. Bad news is that it would not be a 1v1 fight. US and possibly China would end up getting involved. Chances are that China would actually abandon North Korea. So ultimately North Korea would lose in a conflict, but not without massive South Korean casualties.

and this is the contingency that china and US wouldn't get involved personally, just supply the arms the only reason why north is so cocky is because they have china behind them in a 1v1 north would fucking fall

North Korea also has 8,600 artillery pieces and 4,800 multiple rocket launcher systems. South Korea's Army, meanwhile, has 2,500 main battle tanks, 5,800 artillery pieces, 2,700 armoured fighting vehicles, 60 guided missile systems and 600 helicopters, along with 495,000 troops. yeah north doesn't stand a fucking chance

@momoichi I build these things for a living. They work on the launch stage and the apogee of an ICBM. After that they get horribly unreliable. You might be able to hit a few reentry vehicles, but there will be more than a few that make it through. You would be able to get rid of the missiles that are close to the South Korean border, but Yongo Dong and Chunngang-Up missile sites would be a major issue for a missile defense system. Like I said, it is a 35-65 battle in favor of South Korea.

Things like Morale, Strategy, Training and such count heavily in war. Numbers are another heavy factor, but those mentioned above are way heavier. Not overestimating NK, but hell they wouldn't fall easily to SK.

there would be casualties, obviously thats why its a stalemate, neither want that but south korea has the arsonal and troops the majority of north koreans are too manurished to even hold a gun while south koreas have a mandatory military service when their 18 to prepare for if the north pulls some shit the north would fall
