what damage would that be, panpan? i mean our country is currently collapsing, 1000s are dying each day and this isn't even the peak of the infection or the facist response to people exercising their FIRST amendment rights the right is so sensitive over their guns rights, but not so much the other amendments, strange

id like to hear what policies biden has that will tear apart the fabric of America as we know it (FYI trump wants to cut payroll tax, which by proxy would kill social security, arguably our most valuable social safety net and would leave millions of Americans in the future/near future with 0 retirement)

I'm okay with that. Social security isn't a retirement plan. Its a fund that should be considered a worst case scenario in that you are no longer physically able to keep working but must have some form of income. Thinking about it being a retirement plan is why its so messed up to begin with.

thats extremely untrue the majority of americans would not be able to retire at a reasonable age without it where do you think they get money to retire from? savings? do you assume everyone has the opportunity to save? in this country? where breaking a leg can bankrupt you or even a car accident can leave you without a car? that's absolute nonsense, my mom is working out her retirement right now and shes worked many jobs her entire life, always saved and saved when she could (single mother so ain't easy) and she told me that without social security she would not have anything to retire on, and absolutely no way to live without a job

At some point (now in my opinion) the population is going to become unstable. Job scarcity, food, funds for social programs like social security. Its too big to sustain for the amount of people using it. I don't expect to retire. I will probably work until I die. I think more funds should be allocated to social programs. But having worked as a social worker for several years, its a broken system. All social programs need reformation and need to be modernized.

how is social security unstable? social security is a social program, why cut one social program that millions of Americans use and will end up using to fund something else? what is so unstable about social security? it works perfectly well, you and your boss pay into it and then you retire. nothing unstable about that at all, its a system that has worked perfectly well since its implementation and it is NEEDED for people to live your attacking the symptom of an issue, which is the fact that social security is necessary to begin with, that it is a bandaid over a bigger issue which is people cant even save up their own money to retire on without help, which I agree is concerning but In that case attack our for profit systems in America that are doing this to the people, primarily the health care system (which trump wants to repeal where as biden wants to expand on it)
