What Archer said. A lot of people don't accept random friend requests. I used to accept random requests in the past myself, but I stopped. I'd rather only befriend people who really seems interested in wanting to talk to me or wants to become friends. There's trolls here and lurkers so that sorta doesn't help either. Try reading their bio, posting on their wall and form a decent conversation for awhile and and get to know more about them. Think of something intelligent to say or try to talk about stuff they might be interested in. You're bound to make friends that way.

Well I guess a third of my friends on here does not even use the site anymore. I have been here too long I guess. Why are we still here, just to suffer?

I accept random friend requests but I seldom reply~I accept friend requests mainly because I like observing various people quietly and feel curious about what a stranger will say and do. I don't reply because I'm very busy; I'd rather not develop anything meaningful with random ppl whose intentions&true characters are unknown. Also many guys look for a relationship or friends with benefits though they claim they simply want "friends". They may show their true colors&become fking funny trolls once people can't give them enough attention or things develop in the direction they want.
