The gov assistance they get is enough in most cases. My point is the media focuses so much on struggling single parents but they have PLENTY of help. The elderly don't. And its incredibly sad to see impoverished old people and worse when its your job to help them and you can't.

Yes exactly, single parents CAN infact find ways to save and get out of their situation. They just dont. Or dont know how to do it. To simply say its impossible is a lie.

Again... my original point was: You don't get RICH by working hard and saving money. None of the replies I got anyhow disproved that. Yeah, you can survive as a single parent with 6 kids. God bless. But can you live life? Enjoy life? Be carefree? Never.

I've not been a social worker for 5 years now and it still bothers me. We do not honor the elderly like we should, and we damn sure don't help them like we need to.

Same my mom went from being a single parent and homeless to living in a 1600 a month apartment. So idk what this is about.
