but your thinking of the other person by projecting yourself into their situation for humans to determine right from wrong, for them to use empathy they have to first imagine experiencing that situation to gain an opinion i hope im wording that right so it comes down to "if that were me, id want someone to help" which i see as a self centered way of thinking, that simply has the symptom of a helpful outcome its only rational for creatures of our level of sentients to put ourselves first we arent like bees or ants who have a "for the colony" mentality because we have a greater individual experience than they do kind of like, "be the change you want to see in the world"

@meditate did you smell something tasty when that happened...? could be that you were hungry and the smell made your mouth water... if not you saw something tasty... but if those were not the case... I would definitely like to ask if you fantasized about that thought after that point...? for example biting into him/her on the spot or slowly planning murder later on...

i guess "selfish" and "self centered" are really emotionally loaded words no one wants to be called these because of the implications they tend to carry

yeah thats a good way to put it! i really like the idea of cannibalism i like how it feels kind of romanticized like most cannibals have abandonment issues, and thats why they ate their victims so they could always be close to them there was this manga, cant remember the name and it was this priest dude i think, and when the zombies came from the grave they always visited there loved ones to eat them first because thats natural you want to go back to your family i always thought that was really sweet
