tbh the truth of our existence spinning in an unpredictable universe controlled by a corrupt government unable to ever have any real freedom or control over our own lives yet wer born to crave it is the scariest story of all heres my fave online scary story though so this boy sees a polaroid laying on the sidewalk before him. he leans down and pictures it up, immediately becoming captivated by the beauty of the woman on the picture. shes holding up two fingers in a peace sign pose. quickly he finds himself becoming obsessed with this photo, drawn in completely by her image. he stops eating. he stops sleeping. he cant pull his gaze from this photo. finally, his parents force him to go to school, so hes on his way but keeps his eyes on the photo as he strolles. then, a large gust of wind pulls the photo from his hand and carries it, dropping it in the middle of the road. as panic sets in at the prospect of losing his precious picture, he leaps into the road to save it when a truck zooms past, hitting him and insteadly killing him. the driver gets out of the truck, panicking at what has happened when he sees a picture laying next tot he body. immediately captivated by it, he picks it up, studying the image. its of a girl with extraordinary beauty, holding three fingers up.

I have a few stories, but this one comes from Volgograd which is more commonly known by it's Soviet name, Stalingrad. On the hill of Mamayev Kurgan, there is a great monument to those who died in battle. On that very hill was where well over 15,000 men died in a single engagement. I visited in the evening to remember a very distant relative who had died on that very hill. It was very unsettling, the same feeling of tension in the air as when some tragedy happens on TV in a bar and the whole place goes silent. The winds seemed to whisper words from 70 years past. I could swear I smelled burned powder in the air. It is an important place to visit for the history alone, but it is a place I swear is haunted by armies who met on that hill 78 years ago.
