Hey everyone. So, been awhile since I created any threads or posted for that matter obviously. xD So, I figured why not start off with a topic that I've been thinking about lately, and that is TV commercials. Commercials have been around for decades aside from TV, there has been other forms of advertisements as well. But there's something special about TV ads especially old ones. There's always so much effort and creativity in the older stuff I find compared to commercials that evolved over the years. So yeah! Here is the thread to post and talk about some of your favorite commercials no matter what generation. Here are some of my favorites: Mentos: The Wedding https://youtu.be/1gCm50aKNxU All of these commercials are really ridiculous and don't make any sense. The fact that Mentos, just eating a single candy mint has the power to solve all of your life problems. But that's part of the charm and the jingle is very catchy as heck. I believe the Foo fighters wrote the jingle if I'm not mistaken. In any case, I chose this commercial in particular because it's just my favorite one in the absurdness. That teenager could've just asked if he could get the ball back instead of having to go to all of that trouble of sneaking around, pretending he's related to one of the family members of that wedding. That old guy's expression at the end is just the best. Billy Mays Big City Slider Station https://youtu.be/9KBXcpJfmj4 I used to watch this commercial a lot in high school. For some reason or another they played this commercial so many times on Jetix or which became Disney XD later down the line. But yeah, Billy Mays was a legend. He had this insane amount of energy whenever he sold a product whether or not the products were actually good or worked? He was just so darn entertaining in the way he advertised commercials. The Big City Slider Station was no exception and it's the reason why it's my favorite one. xD Fire Emblem Fuuin no Tsurugi commercial https://youtu.be/BAJhN5n9nBE It was probably around my early college years where I discovered the Fire Emblem japanese commercials. This one if probably my favorite out of all of them. I really like the sets and the amount of detail Japan puts into commercials like this one in particular. I know Roy and Lilina don't have the right hair color in this ad, but it works for me I think so! Also, the timing of that horse neighing at the end of the chorus is just perfect. It gets me every time I watch it. xD Mother 1 Commercial https://youtu.be/yQUN7QAnMp0 I'm not sure if I'd be classified as a Mother fan even though I have played the first two games and do appreciate them for what they were? But I really like this commercial a lot. It's another Japanese video game commercial, but they definitely put a ton of effort into this one. The St. Paul's Cathedral opening with the Eight Melodies is very atmospheric and hits you with feels for certain. xP
