Annoying/useless characters from tv shows

So most tv shows or cartoons usually has that one character that does absolutely nothing except to become a comic relief character foil. It's generally a formula devised from what I've seen in most popular cartoons. So, everyone what is that one character you just cannot stand and serves no purpose to the plot? I think Planetpoptart is one of the few I believe is one of the few sonic fans around here and has seen this particular show. But for me, it's freaking Antoine from the 2nd Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon. http://i49.tinypic.com/io15rn.jpg I love Rob Paulsen's voice work as a whole. But this was just a terrible character or to say tres mal. He was just a bad french stereotype and would always complain that it's dangerous, or cower away when the Freedom Fighters did all of the work and functioned as a group to stop robotnik's plan to robotize innocents or destroy the environment. There was one episode where he did something really dumb giving away the power ring, which gives Sonic his incredible super powers, to robotnik and ended up getting captured. And what was the reason for that? He was incredibly jelly and wanted to impress Princess Sally since she's interested in Sonic. I have no problem with comic relief characters or cowardly characters if they're written well. I mean the cowardly lion from the Wizard of Oz is a comic relief character and can be legit funny while trying to be brave.(Although the cowardly lion was supposedly done better in the book) I like the idea of a character that's cowardly but grows strong over time. Antoine does not grow at all. And he always has this arrogant Ego that I just cannot stand. Constantly criticizing Sonic but he does nothing purposeful. He thinks very highly of himself and believes he has a plan, but every time it fails or doesn't 98% of the time he have any input. The only few times I've seen him do something was by accident. Like accidentally finding the secret path in a cave ruins because he was scared, or he helped Princess Sally over a bridge because again he was scared. That's literally it though. It's ironic cause Tails is so inactive in the show unlike the previous cartoon which is not to be taking seriously. He would've been so much more useful had he been part of the group going on missions. In the games he can fly and can build machinery.(Although there is a character in the show that does that but still) Anyways, I'd love to hear everyone elses thoughts! ^_^

Antoine was better in the comics and actually had growth and came into his own over time. He died taking on Metal Sonic though.
