Favorite Disney films

Umm.. I have a lot of favorites but what I could think of right now is Beauty and the Beast, as sappy as it sounds, I loved that the girl overlooked the Beast's flaws and tried to see the good in him, as such with her perspective to other people that have wronged her, Belle still sought out something good in him after his personality portrayed was that an embodiment of an actual beast. <w< I'm in for that sappy shit qwq

Are Pixar and Disney the same thing now? Bugs life was the boi though back in the day

Heck yes, another fantasia fan! Also, @ambrosei Beauty and the Beast is a good pick. It's not my favorite, but lots of people love that movie a great deal. It was nominated for an award for best soundtrack I think? And yes Pixar and Disney are pretty much combined these days. A Bugs life, I can understand the appeal. Kevin Bacon as the villain grasshopper is very entertaining the main bugs are memorable, it has beautiful colors. I liked Dreamworks Antz a little bit more when it came writing and characters well back when I was a kid, but A Bug's Life has its own likable charm. It has better character design when it came to the insects.

My favorite is a tie between The Little Mermaid and Aladdin. But I also love the slightly underrated Hercules and the massively underrated Treasure Planet.

Adore a majority of films from Disney's renaissance era. But if I had to choose, my favorite would be: Beauty and the Beast, Tangled, and The Little Mermaid.

ooohhhhhh Soul had so much opportunity to be good!!! so did Luca and Turning Red! it feels like Pixar is on this trend of movies that had fantastic premises but really, really fumbled the ball for the core of the movie. still great watches Onward has the most emotional ending climax of any animated film, and ill box the shit out of anyone who disagrees Enchanto was better than turning red in its themeing and emotional, but aesthetically it was really boring, while turning red was a visual master piece that truly grasped the concept of animation. Enchanto suffered from having a cast that was fuller than they could flesh out. mirabell should have spoken to everyone about their issues, not just two characters. still though, that ending climax was so heartfelt, and i love the more mature themes i think soul and luca are the biggest disappointments for me. soul had some insanely impressive moments, and luca had a perfect premis. wer fish people who want to be on land and we cant get caught. but the over protective parents is a worn trope and it felt lazy with them just wanting a bike, though i liked how it culminated in luca being allowed to stay in the human world, BUT doesnt that kinda blow away his friendship with the other boy? BUT i especially loved the girls dad, and how wer made to think that he lost his arm in some merfolk attack, just to learn that he hadnt. it felt so inline with the 'dont judge a book by its appearance theme just speaking on animated films, i hope that michells vs the machine and turning red keep this trend of creative animation. i know disney isnt going to embrace it, even classic disney in the 60s prefered the refined style to the stretch and squish, but pixar is its own entity creativity-wise, so im super excited to see what they have for the future, and i also hope they get over this fumbling hump that theyr in. lightyear looks great, so i have high expectations!
