Playstation 4 rpg

I don't know why I feel this way, but it seems that jrpg are lacking this generation. I already own half on the ps4, all on the vita and I am still collecting when it comes to ps2 and ps3. I'm wondering if I should do hack n slash ones like kingdom hearts

I definitely recommend buying the KH Remasters and playing them, and before you buy 3. The story is long and arguably convoluted, but enjoyable all the same. The earlier games have a critical mode that makes the games more challenging, one of KH3's greatest faults is just how easy it is. Aside from that, if you're into turn-based games, Persona 5 is a masterpiece.

@Kojiro: I enjoyed .hack GU. The only things that disappoint me are that the battle system seems a bit too simple(smack the foe a few times, use a skill as Rengeki, or in the arena, just run around until the opportunity to counter with a Hangeki shows up) and the 4th installment was a complete cop out.

My favorite JRPG series atm is the Trails/Kiseki series. Its currently a 9 game long narrative, and the story is said to be 60% done. Chapters 6-9 are getting PS4 releases in English starting this year, though you have to go elsewhere for 1-5. I mostly stick to Switch and PC for my rpgs atm though, that seems to be where they have mostly migrated this gen.

Persona 5 and Dragon quest 11 are the two big ones that come to mind

You should definitely give the Tales series a try if you're into JRPGs. There are three on PS4 which are Vesperia, Zesteria and Berseria. Vesperia is the fan-favourite and the one I would also recommend most out of the PS4 games. Personally, I would recommend Xillia 1 and 2 since you have a PS3 as those games are my favourites of all time at the moment when taken together as one.
