Death is terrifying if you don't have any formal beliefs, but I realized after a while not to spend time worrying. I'd rather spend my life being as happy as possible, doing the things I love.
After I'm done, then I hope I'll be confident enough to face the end.

Death is not terrifying, but the fear of the unknown is. When I die, that'll be it. It's best to make sure that you're at peace with your life, so that you'll be at peace with your death. We will all die and we will all find out if this is it, but I'd rather not have any major regrets than worry about a universal eventuality.

we fear death because we fear the unknown
we fear that we dont know and we fear great changes
i have different thoughts of death
religious is theres heaven and you can only enter if your a good person and you must repent for your sins to be forgiven and let in, and even if the most foul of person is truly sorry for what they have done god will purify him of his sins
logic, i think it's probz like ghosts. matter doesnt expire, so i believe our "souls" will be left after as something like a ghost. an after image of us.
i also like to think reincarnation is real
its strange to think that our close loved ones who have passed know the truth behind this

Well, it's no secret that I kinda dabble in the supernatural stuff. And gawd, I wish I were on my meds right now so I could paint a much more vivid picture, but sadly, we're in for the abridged version today, because I am hyper lazy.
So let's remove the metaphysical components of the samsara, karma, higher vibrational extensions of the self, and the billions of near death experiences. Just stick to what science can measure.
When you die, what happens? Your body decomposes. Okay, but if you don't believe in souls or an afterlife, what does that entail? All the matter in your body is quite frankly as old as time anyway. The only things that make you into you are brain chemicals. The rest of you goes on. Feeds into grass, which is then eaten long after your body disappears, becomes food for a pregnant deer, which helps to form the body of its unborn infant. Suddenly, small pieces of you are recycled into the next creature. Life quite literally goes on.
Do I fear death? Course. My brain is hard wired to. But thanks to my more... supernatural experiences in life, I at least conclude that there is far more happening behind the curtains than that. Even if I have no idea what that is. (Like seriously, the higher dimensional realms I shift in astral projection, the more I start to loose sense of individuality, and the more abstract everything becomes.)

i think because we're so wired against death that makes the act of suicide an interesting thing
to go against your most base of instincts

Yeah, I'm inclined to agree. Depression is actually a natural adaptation to keep us from going there. Since it makes us less likely to act upon our thoughts.

More importantly though. If I ever kick the bucket too soon, it will be up to you guys to destroy my hard drive.
