Would you date someone who has children?

I know what you mean tea cup, i have a friend dating a guy with a kid and it was completely fine with her! while everyone viewed it as something really out of the ordinary, even i wouldnt be able to do so, if i'm already in such a good relationship with a girl, then she says she has a child, my heart just jumps out of the window i guess? xD

Personally, no. Not right now at least. I don't want kids, and that might change, but as long as that remains true I don't want any part in raising anyone else's children.

Was about to answer, then I realized I posted here already, and my answer hasn't really changed. DX But yeah, for both genders, having kids and being single kinda lowers their perceived status in society. It shouldn't be something that you should be looked down on, but it is. So some people lie about it. Although even without that social stigma, there's still reason people would want to hide it. Kids are stressful. Especially infants and toddlers. It's kinda a big thing to jump into if you've never had kids of your own. So that certainly would hurt someone's chances as well. Although to be honest, lying about something like that is a deal breaker to me. You should always be honest to others about what they are going to get themselves into when they enter your life.

i dont think id mind i like kids, and while i dont want to bare my own, id happily take care of some. im really good with my nephew, and as long as the guy was really good with his children (if he was kind and caring with them, not cold or abusive) i wouldnt mind dating a guy with kids dating might be difficult, but id be ok with having dates that could include the kids (some kind of bonding that everyone can enjoy) like a picnic specially if his kid is like tsumugi *v* http://i.imgur.com/56O3BEE.gif

srsly the only problem I guess would be if the kid would accept me lol.... so it's a yes for me :p if it's tsumugi o.O you would be winning at life xD

Maybe now that I'm a little older. Otherwise, I remember hearing about a girl in college who liked me, but I didn't date her because she had a kid.

I already dated a man who had a 3 years old child (that's 10 years ago, I'm getting old). Children are not a problem in a relationship, you can grow with them and also love like your own child. I mean, would you mind if someone is a cat/dog owner? That makes no differents imho.

With all due respect, the care and nurture that goes into having a dog or a cat doesn’t even begin to meet the financial or psychological strain of raising a child. Apples and oranges. To each their own, though. For me it’s not about any sort of social stigma, it’s just a matter of practicality. The population in industrialized nations is falling for the expressed reason that people are beginning to live for themselves and the cost of living is already a significant burden for a couple with no children to bare depending on your education, career, and geographic location.
