Rape

@Muggle I know it seems wrong to let the guilty party go free, but as gud mentioned human memory is pretty faulty. If the victim were to come forward early there is a good chance this actual rapist can be convicted, due to DNA testing. I added more to my post, but my stance is, if you have evidence you should be able to convict someone, if you have none then I'm sorry you have no leg to stand on.

@tiger: Definitely, if there's evidence provided, I'm all for the harshest punishment possible for the offenders. It's 2018 and rape kits exist, get the evidence.

@Muggle: I may have misinterpreted her but she did just attempt to shame me for not wanting to ruin people's lives over he said/she said nonsense. I really dislike when others try to lay down that guilt trip stuff. General Convo: In short, the world is unfair. Time doesn't stop when something bad happens to you. You, even if a victim, need to pull yourself up and continue with your life rather than have some creep retain control of your mind. Get evidence, prosecute and move on. Grow up. I fully realize this is easier said than done and it will be hard to move on from something like that. It doesn't change the fact that you MUST do so if you expect to live a happy future. TL;DR - If being strong was easy, everyone would be strong. Though just because it's hard doesn't mean you can't be strong. You CAN.

@Muggleborn if the evidence lies within the trauma then how can we convict the accused(if legitimate) you didn't provide a solution, and if the rapekits are as bad as Sailing says they are then, a new form of gathering evidence may have to come forth, how it can be done, I have no idea. Also IMO nothing is worse than being falsely accused nothing. Look guys we just have to agree to disagree, that's all there is to it. You may hate me for my opinions, but let's at least be respectful. I'm not bullying,insulting or putting down anyone for not agreeing with me. I just still stand that it's better to let a million guilty people go free than to jail one innocent as Tim Pool and NO Bullshit mentioned. @Muggle I have to say comparing these two things is just a bit silly. They both have the potential to affect someone's entire future. Look to see how many college students have lost EVERYTHING over false charges. They both deprive innocents of their future. Just as rape victims have problems ever getting right in the head again, a false accusation will ALWAYS stay on someone's record and in turn deprives them of a majority of opportunities. All this because... Some women think it's "too hard" to get a test done after a rape? I really have no pity for women who choose to let their rapist run free for 10+ years to assault more women. The RIGHT THING is rarely comfortable or easy to do.

@Gudmoore my thoughts exactly. I think false rape victims have it worse because a lack of resources and support, at least raped victims legit or not have lots of support and a crapload of resources to help them.
