Let's make a Virtual Novel

You're thinking too big. Have an actual story that you think is worth peoples time, then you'll know what aspects of production you'll need the community to contribute.

Do you have any idea of character concepts. I feel as if I come up with interesting ideas and would love to help if possible. I also just happened to learn python in high school so I know a little bit about coding.

Just some tip: - if you can, find some of the panels from the creator of doki doki lirature club, he gave off many good advice - don't think too big just yet, start off with something small then you can grasp an idea of how much work you can produce at a given time frame. I seen many developers take too much and then dropping it - review the work done. Have a third party take a look during the development process, they can offer grammar check, improvement to code, or find bugs This is not to discourage you, moreso as a way to provide insight into the field. I would've help if you ask a week or two earlier, but I added too much to my schedule already xD
