So, yesterday, had to go get one of my cats to the vet. He kept trying to pee, but nothing was coming out. There was blockage caused by stress. We moved to a new house recently and we had to take him with us in a car, which scared the shit out of him it seems. So, to fix the damage the blockage was causing would have been $1400, the surgery itself would of costed $2000, and what's more is that he would have to be put on an expensive diet for the rest of his life. The other option was euthanasia. Needless to say, we couldn't afford the former. My mother held him and sang to him as he closed his eyes, she was the last thing he ever saw, and he barely lived a third of his life. We found him on the side of a road as a kitten when we lived in New York. He was always a timid but loving cat. When we moved to Indiana, he was even more timid. He scurry away if you suddenly approached him, but he slowly came back to you if you were calm. For the 4 years that went to school here, he was always at home. He was there when I discovered of my favorite video games, he was there for every Christmas we had here, and he was there sleeping by us almost every night. The fact that he's gone, the fact that he will no longer be home when I come home from school, and the fact that he didn't live a full life just causes me pain. I just needed this off my chest, sorry if I annoy anyone.

That's so sad, it's alright man, thank you for sharing this with us. I'm sure he had a great life having you as his owner. He will rest on cat heaven and watch over you.

Same thing happened to my cat, but they identified what was wrong before it got worse and helped stabilize his kidney's liquid intake. It was kidney failure and he did not have enough liquids in his body to probably use the restroom or hydrate his body. Everytime he tried eating he threw up. So I apologize for your loss. I know how hard it must be. I had my cat since I was 5 years old. I am 22 about to be 23 now. So he is practically a brother to me. I cried so much when we heard his chances of living were slim to none within the next few days.

We've always had cats at home in my life which means we've lost them too. To either health problems or cars since they all inside/outside cats. I'm living in my own home now and I can't imagine when my cat dies. Sorry for your lost :(

I feel ya man, I had 2 cats myself and was sad when they died. They were both stray cats, one of them had their teeth fall out of their mouth? yeah i know it sounds weird, he only had 2 left. she died at the early age of 2 to a sickness. the other one was found on the street (ran over by a car) at the age of 8. Sorry to hear that. edit: cherish that picture.
