Okay, I'm a man and even I can explain this. It is an emotional overload of cheerfulness that results in vocal expression as a result of being unable to contain said emotion. Men do this as well, we just have a higher tolerance.

why do we laugh when we see something funny? why do we go "um" when collecting our thoughts? its just a reactionary response, like any other as to why women do it in perticular, men do it as well but less often i suppose (from what iv experience) it may be because men are expected to keep there emotions inside, where women are free to express them so we let loose an "awwww" while men can internally think "awww" or something of the like idk, just my guess
