How do you go about meeting someone new?

I used to find it super easy to meet new people back years ago in school, on chatango I made many friends, and lots of which became friendships beyond chatango. One became a relationship for a very long time, even lived together. But now that sadly that relationship is dead I find it difficult to meet people, make friends or even find someone to talk to.

For meeting new people around you, especially those who share the same interest(s), I'd recommend Meetup.com. I've found that the people I meet have similar experiences - they have found it hard as they got olde(especially after college) to meet new friends and wanted to be more social. Give it a try!

I guess I am also looking for long-distance people. I do long-distance well and it can be nice to get to know someone personally first. My last relationship was long-distance and it worked well. I moved to her country for a few years. I love traveling as well.

I really don't go out of my way to try to be friends with someone. But when it happens, it happens. If I meet someone I wanna keep in my life, I trade contact information, and organize future possible meeting locations.

I try to do it naturally but unfortunately where I live there's no direct things to do to meet people. Theres a local gaming store where I play Lightseekers, Force of Will, Warhammer etc. I love meeting people from other countries though, some of my best friends are long distance. Even relationships.

Used to go on chatango myself(different name, this was years ago) :D Anyway, go out, go the the gym, to a club. Take some classes or participate at community events(that interest you.) Be a more social person. Go to parties. Hell, host some parties. Go to the beach. Pick up a hobby and go with it. Along the line you can meet people that share your passion. It takes you places. Something as small as frequenting a Starbucks and just being a local can open doors socially speaking. I'm just saying to put yourself out there.
