A while? The ai singularity CAN happen within the next ten years. Either it will be as a god for us (making damn near anything possible) or it will see us as inferior/useless to keep around. But, I'm in of the thought that it won't happen in my life, could be wrong.

It realistically can't happen within the next 10 years. We're only now nearing the point where a processor can perform the same number of processes as the human brain. Even if an intelligence developed in the scheme of all of that, it wouldn't have any feasible way to overthrow us. The closest things to autonomic machines are self driving cars, which aren't prolific yet and likely won't be within 10 years, and similar vehicles that work inside of factories. However these machines would have no way to sustain themselves. Autonomous factory machines can only sustain themselves inside of the factories they work in, and then only if you don't cut off the power to the whole factory. Additionally AI would in no way be able to cross to machines retroactively, meaning whatever machine developed it would only be able to cross to other similar machines.

If you mean jobs then people have been losing jobs ever since machines were created. Factories and warehouses are pretty much run by machines with a few humans monitoring them, that's hundreds of jobs gone.
