A Tricky Topic For Me...

oneman
Here's the thing. I struggle with several things. A. Empathy with others. I've been screwed over and betrayed by so many people that I almost take pride in my sociopathic nature. B. Employment. I cannot handle standard working conditions, due to mental and physical issues. So I do youtubing for my work, and quite frankly, I will eventually be a politican as well. My question is this: Do you ladies feel ok being with a man who is sociopathic due to emotional damages, and are you the forgiving type, who is fine with pursuing one's own dreams?? Or are you ladies into the more conventional type, who work a more standard job and act more like a standard societal man? I kinda need to know this, since I've never been in an actual relationship.

1.You're jaded, not sociopathic. There's a big difference. 2. You seem mentally able to put thoughts into an electronic format fairly well (aka type). Why not work as a receptionist or something? Having money earning, life supporting job is definitely a huge plus for most. Unfortunately, you have to earn money, even on YouTube (No matter how stupid some on there are, it's a firm of work.). You're trying to ask women if they'd like an emotionally unavailable, non working guy or if they want someone who's emotionally available and able to take care of himself? Gotta put yourself in s better light the instead of going for the special snow flake, my dude.

I was asking for a real answer there yaasshat. 1. Hmm. Depends on how you view the perspective I guess. 2. I've already looked into that option actually. There aren't any availabilities where I'm at here in Salem, Oregon. I'd have to move up to Portland, which I don't currently have the money to do. Also, I'm not expecting special treatment. I actually like a woman who holds me accountable, believe it or not. However, I cannot be anything other than real and honest. "Putting myself in a better light" is a lie, and I will not do so. Women deserve better than to be lied to. Hell, everyone deserves better than that, and a huge problem in this world is the very concept of lying. I would simply set a bad example, and be a hypocrite, if I started lying.

"Women deserve better than to be lied to. Hell, everyone deserves better than that, and a huge problem in this world is the very concept of lying." this is empathy. Like Yaasshat said, you're not a sociopath, you're jaded. Like a lot of us.

Hmm, my perspective is that I call myself as such because I take certain delight in the misery of others. I call myself as such because I am willing to embrace the label if I am perceived as such. Is sadism not a trait of a sociopath? Is it really so ludicrous for someone who takes delight in others' misery to have a conscience? To be honest, I am far more able to express myself properly when not in person.

Most people act differently online than IRL. A sociopath is not an inherently bad term. The entertainment media pushed the whole psychotic killers/ master mind stereotype. Do you enjoy harming animals or watching people injure animals that can't defend themselves?

No. Growing up being forced to hurt animals just to make it to school, gives me a miserable pit in my stomach when I hear of animal cruelty.

There you go. You're not a sociopath, you can empathize the pain caused to other creatures.

To be fair, I was kinda forced to kill them to survive long enough to make it to school as a kid, so if anything it just brings back trauma to see it happen. Yet like I said, is it really that absurd for a sociopath to have a conscience?
jtibbs
"a person with a personality disorder manifesting itself in extreme antisocial attitudes and behavior and a lack of conscience." Thats the definition of a sociopath. I doubt anyone here is a behavioral expert, but you can't really diagnose yourself as a sociopath.
