THE UK ELECTION IS TODAY

am hyped but scared. thresh may is a bitch, hope she loses and catches a disease :p also i really don't want 'brexit' to happen ;-; what do you think is gonna happen? i would like labour or green to win buuuut I'm predicting no ones gonna get enough seats and we gonna get some shitty coalition like lib-dems and conservatives LIKE BOI PLS NO

Lowkey, get ready for the rising tide of nationalism. Not saying that nationalism is bad, but you can expect a change in how the show's run.

Brexit will happen and if the conservatives win (which it looks like they will) Ireland more than likely won't leave the U.K. The only thing the U.K. Did to "screw up" is the fact that since the we've been without solid leadership, since the guy who told Brussels "Hey we are going to leave if you don't give us what we want" Brussels doesn't give us what we want, we vote leave, guy quits his Job. What a cunt. If he had stayed on and actually had a plan for it more than half of the problems we've been getting wouldn't have been happening.

The problems is that both sides are as bad as each other. In the UK a lot of people feel disconnected from the politicians who are running the country. The problem for me is that every decision is made by aggregates not a specific focus. One of the easiest examples related to the EU: When fishing quotas where implemented, the UK fishing industry was decimated. The EU however provides farming subsidies to others in different region of the country. On paper the country is no worse off, but try telling that to fishermen who lost their jobs that it is OK because farmers they have never met are getting subsides so the economy is all good. That being said there are so many issues on the go at the moment that I doubt any one party could fix them out. What annoys me the most is that you watch the parliamentary debates and its all point scoring against the other parties than talk on policy. I reckon that if every MP in power now actually chose to work together across party lines we would have a better government and country but there will always be people who vote a certain way based on party lines rather than the honest views they hold.

I voted for the party who I thought would be better at getting us through Brexit and only that. Probably not the best way to go about it but both of the most likely to win parties were and piss poor as each other. I know there are a lot of other issues going on right now, but Brexit is happening and the more we are seen to flip flop during negotiations with the EU, the more difficult it will be for the UK to be taken seriously by other Countries in future deals. As much as it was memed, the 'strong and stable' approach is what needs to happen in my opinion. No matter what party is running the Country.
