kumo isnt really a shonen, is it? only shonen element is fantasy. the cringey "comedy" and 4th wall breaks are an anime only thing. there isn't really any fan service either (at least not yet) now, shadow house is the perfect example of a perfect adaption the creepy atmosphere, the perfect soundtrack, the fact that it holds tightly with the manga (today's ep was a bit of an exposition dump at the end, but that's forgivable since the animes ending in, like, two episodes), the voice actors are perfect, and portrays the spirit of the manga beautifully oddtaxi is still anime of the year, but shadow house is close

Nah nah nah, oddtaxi is good but not that good. Shadows house on its own is better than oddtaxi. But yes i agree, shadows house has managed to stay interesting mainly out of its mysterious atmosphere. They slowly expose the secrets of the house each episode. They make things every entertaining. But for me the best anime is most definitely re:zero the second half of seaskn 2 was spot on. Part one was a talking sim but part two really dove deep in the world's atmosphere. Tokyo revengers is a close second.

Shadows house sorta reminds me a bit of shiki. Idk why, they arent even the same genre. But they are similar in atmosphere.
