It feels like you have to read a book in order to read other books, and then you can play.

I have one, but it's pretty new. There is the time I kicked a party member over a waterfall.

@chocopyro, this is the third time I've typed this out. So I specialize in DMing horror games. I'm not just good at it. I'm "My player had to take a Xanax" kind of good. I love Gothic and Cosmic horror and woe to anyone who plays a warlock in my games. We were playing Ravenloft and the players had just entered the city of Paragon. It was dark, foggy and the streets were empty. They spent a time chasing shadows through the streets. Every time they would pin down a shadow, it would vanish. They thought they were dealing with the undead version of the creature. When they would use spells to turn or detect undead, nothing would happen. They managed to find a boarding house that was about to lock it's doors for the night. After some diplomacy, they walked in to the parlor .There was the proprietor, a family of 4, a newly wed couple, a merchant and his guards. I was here that they learned that a serial killer was on the lose. 5 murders would occur over 5 nights every X amount of years. And this night was second night. The next morning, the players offer their services to the local police(The setting was in a late 1800's era). The captain was more than glad(via diplomacy) to have the extra man power and laid down the details. The victims were from all walks of life but it would happen in a cycle, one from each district of the city. A blade was plunged into the forehead. They back of the head was also cleaved open and the brain removed. On the case, it started to feel like a a traditional dnd game. They canvased and started to gather details about the first victim, a high-priest of the local temple. While investigating, the priest of the temple begin "accidently" cutting at the clothes of the adventuring party. No damage done, but they do it to each player. If they can complete the task, they reveal that they belong to a sect that hunts monsters and they have a theory that the killer is a doppelganger. They invite to player to the temple that night as they have a plan to take out the killer. That night, the players gather at the temple. It is reveled that the temple has a chamber at the bottom that houses caged doppelgangers. They are going to use the doppelgangers as bait for the killer. Everyone has gathered at the temple after night has fallen. The players gather with the priests in the room, up against the far wall to bottle neck the killer. An hour passes, no signs. At this time, the doppelgangers begin to get restless. This grows in time, one right after another. When two of the priests go to quiet some of the doppelgangers down via threats, they quickly find out the cages are not actually locked. After the fight, it's found that one of the priests is missing. They will find the body in his room. 3rd night, 3rd victim. The players return to the inn defeated, but it gets worse. They find the inn in chaos. A body has been found and the Captain can been found in the room next to the players. It is the newly minted bride. And she died days ago before the players arrived. They have 1 less day than they thought and they are running out of time. Part two when I can.
