Thoughts on Fan Service

Fanservice depends on how it is handled. If it is shoehorned without any need other than being fluff (Looking at you Toei), then screw it.

I did like how subversive Shokugeki no Souma was. Both sexes had their own fan service, mostly from the famous "foodgasms" from eating any good chef's food. Funny story, I almost dropped the series after Chapter 1 just for the first foodgasm with tentacles. However, comes Chapter 2 when we also see the guys affected by it. I would be like "Well played, a shonen manga trying something different for once".

yeah that too! shokugeki had a lot of hot dudes but the fan service wasnt as equalized as it is in one punch like the foodgasms were nearly always women and the scenes were played off more sexual than comedical like with the guys i think murata panders sexually to everyone and its great xD normal dudes get fubuki, lolicons get tatsumaki (even if she is really a lolibaba), normal girls get all the hot buff dudes (honestly i think we get more fanservice than the dudes get) and even shotacons theres this one art of child emperor and it has to be for shotacons. idk why else murata would draw this xD https://preview.redd.it/oih2ef45fal21.png?width=800&format=png&auto=webp&s=e675c90ce1fc61a5503a73055147bf36246ff85e one punch might be one of my fave manga purely because of the fan service (i mean the touching shit like amai arc and garou are reasons too)
