What are your main dislikes for anime and likes

I'm getting tired of "Mecha" something I'm getting to dislike. Only a few I like. Giant robots are just getting borng now.

I like anime where a character just effing loses it, blood and gore, nobody is safe, on the edge of my seat. What I hate: Tired overused plot elements One dimensional villains Sappy romance

My likes are shounen, usually with the main character in the title. But it has to have a well balanaced colorful cast of characters. Also plot twists. And epic fights, tournament or not. Blood is okay, same with a bit of fan service. But i dont think it should focus on them completely. It seems today that alot of anime relies on "Look! Boobies! Super nosebleed!" It was mild in naruto and bleach, i cant remember more than 3 times both had moments like that. Also when it comes to romance (even in shounen) im all for it, just give the characters good chemistry. Inu yasha and kagome or sasuke and sakura are horrible examples. (But then everyone seemed to lack any sort of real motivation in shippuden anyway and inu yasha went stale becuase it never focused on anything long enough and repeated alot of similar plots.) Drama is also ok. I mean if the heroes always win it gets repetive and borring right? No risk involved so why bother seeing what happens next? Drama excells in shounen. As well as good romance. You dont even need an antagonist to have drama in a story, ive seen a few anime where the main characters hatch things out after arguing a lot and end up growing stronger and closer together from it. Also we get to see their backstories. Theres an episode of avatar where the supposed villains of the show are on a beach sitting around a campfire and it focuses on them for the entirety of the episode, no aang, no saka, ect. And suprisingly its really good. I know its not technically anime but its a good example how to do it right. You dont have to kill people off, not everyone at least. Even if its the end of a series. Sometimes an ending that wraps everything up is enough. Also it drives me crazy when an anime ends and everyone dies but then it shows them alive and well like nothing happened. I get you want to end on a positive note but you cant have it both ways. (Looking at you, wolf's rain) Also you cant go overboard with the drama. Samurai x tried to go for a soap opera approach to rurouni kenshin and didnt leave audiences with the highest of praises. So yeah, ill probably like shounen even into my 30s and 40s if its done well. But at the same time ill admit its not perfect, nowhere near. But i love it all the same.

Likes: Well I usually like the rival to the main character in any shounen, Or a well made main grey area main character. Just my thing. Dislikes: Mary sues, It just zaps all the enjoyment away, One of the reasons I can't get into some harem anime or comedies, And many shounen. For the fanbase Dislikes: Immaturity, I swear we are some of the most immature, self centered fanbases can get I have ever seen. We'll be sending death threats to people for one thing someone said they disagreed with, It's ridiculous. Oh and then's the all high and mighty fans I just can't stand who state their opinion as facts. I hate anime and manga endings never find them good enough so now I just skip the end so they live forever in my heart. I love super long anime/manga.

Edit: misread the title. Things I hate are: 1. Get really into an anime just to find out it was CANCELED! 2. Your favorite character gets killed off, later they bring back someone else but not your guy/girl! 3. You watch a show that's been around for a long time then at "the end" the ending ends up being crap.
