Inspiration from Anime

Hi, my name is Isaac and for a long long time I've always wanted to be a writer. This dream of mine began about 10 years ago after watching Naruto and Zatch Bell on Toonami. From these anime and many more (manga also) I've been receiving much inspiration for characters and plots I want to try using for books in the future (though it's only recently I actually started writing partially due to laziness, and partially because I thought I needed to think out the plots more). However, I feel if I tell anyone where my inspiration came from, they'd look down on my writing, mainly those who don't watch or read anime or manga. Am I just worried for nothing?

You can't please everybody you wouldn't want to if you could. As long as you are happy why give a crap about what anyone else thinks?

I agree very much with what C.Raynor says, I mean, i started to write and sure, it didn't get much attention and people looked down on my horrible grammar skills and so-called horrible writing, but i kept at it and I currently have over 1,400 fans on deivantart, go for it, you never make the shots you never take after all ^^

You're over thinking bro. Everyone has an inspiration that's not from themselves. Could you imagine a world where we weren't inspired? We would cease to exist. We are all creative by nature, don't let insecurity put a lock on your talent. Open your mind, heart and express yourself. Think #indigo

Thanks everyone for the encouragement, especially akumaoti. I'll keep at my writing and try to get it published in the future. I guess I was worried that the people I know would think it's weird. I haven't told many people my ideas since I thought they'd think it's something I wouldn't come up with lol. In the future I think I'll try making a blog to help get my work out :)
