What would be a more feasible explanation for stopping time is.....that it isn't stopped. It is instead slowed down dramatically. Light will get slowed down. And since humans cannot 'see' light anyways, so we wouldn't be able to make out whether light has slowed down at all.

One of the coolest "stop time mechanic" is from Rolo Lamperouge (code geass). He can not stop time but he can stop the senses of everyone around him with the cost of stoping his own heartbeats. I especially like this one because it doesn't fuck with physic A mighty ability with a huge drawback, in other words, "perfectly balanced, like all things should be"

@IrideAkatsuki the problem with slowing times and light down is, You will not be able to see things right away after it happens, It will be a larger delay. For example, if I hit you in the face, you will feel the punch first while still seeing my fist in the air.
