@goodforsomething In case if you dont understand how wealth works, Jeff Bezos actually does not have billions of dollars in his bank account. The vast majority of millionaires and billionaires have their wealth in non-liquid form. This means that they dont actually have their worth in cash. Almost always, they have their wealth tied up in stocks or other similar thing. If they wanted cash, they would have to sell the stock, and with the amount that they own, any sale is under heavy scrutiny by the FTC, and will require their approval (at least in the USA). It helps to understand how wealth works. Also, just because a person is wealthy, does not mean that they are inherently "bad". However, money is a form of power, and with great power, comes great responsibility. We unfortunately seem to have enough "rich" people willing to throw their power into very selfish things, that it is obviously pushing policy in a very concerning direction.

@momoichi I doubt much will be done with Biden in office. The executive branch only can make policy decisions for the different parts that it is in charge of. It wouldnt have the power to push though any kind of proper public option without the legislative branch poisoning it with 2000+ pages of corrupt earmarks and inane laws. Biden also does not have any strong convictions on a vision of what kind of path he wants the country to go down. Nor does the democratic party for that matter. The problem we have is the legislative branch is filled with a mix of incompetent fools, paid puppets, and legitimately destructive crazies.
