Is having an IRL picture of yourself as avatar frowned upon here? Also, how do I figure out if someone I'm chatting with is just kind and polite as a friend or has interest in me? They never start the conversation themselves, which could be explained by shyness or disinterest, but always reply with full and proper sentences, engage in different discussions I present and laugh at jokes. Some time ago I invited them to an event alone but they refused saying they weren't comfortable going out alone. It was stupid on my part since we barely knew each other and I don't want to be that forward again. But I also don't want to constantly try and chat with them if there's no interest since it'd feel like spamming them.
