@elhaym Unfortunately the U.S. only adopted a christian point of view because they wanted to compete with the Russians in the 60's. Who were also atheist. So what better way to spite them than to say "One nation under GOD". I myself am Christian but most Americans are atheists.

It seems normal in the US to put a domestic animal down, but I think that the dog could be rescued. I feel disturbed. That are things what would never happen in Germany.

@alihawk pets will be put to sleep if they are too ill by a vet. I never heard that German shelters would do that. Animal welfare activists would go rampage
