I have one ghost encounter and it's a long one so get comfortable if you plan on reading it haha. So I was getting ready for school and it was my first day at UCI, so like two years ago, and I live around 4 miles off campus with my cousin who worked in the area. As I was dressing, my cousin comes into the room that we slept in and asked how her coat got into the living room. Then she realized that that coat was the same one she left at work in the car the evening before. She left the car at work because it misfired or something. I wasn't sure at the time. So naturally, I had to go pick it up and when I did, my phone charger was in the pocket of that coat. Now that doesn't seem all too suspicious but this will have a role later into my day. So my cousin is still freaking out because she didn't know how her sweater got there or how my charger got under there and how she was so sure she left it at work. So she let her imagination get the better of her and starts begging me to say that I was the one that put it there, but I wasn't. Well I convinced her to let me go to school and I had to take her coat with me because if I didn't, she would cry. So now her supposedly haunted coat is in my car. So the rest of the school day goes relatively normal in terms of nothing spectral occurred until the end of the day. So as I approach my car and click the button to unlock it, the lock alarm sounded. So when I tried to unlock it, it would lock, and if I tried to lock it, it would unlock. Now this wasn't a big deal and the receptor might be jammed until I tried to ignite the car. Nothing. No ignition sound so the battery has to be dead. So if the battery is dead, how did the car react to the lock keys? So not knowing any better, I try to start the car again, but this time the radio turns on to some FM channel that I've never read and that isn't unheard of especially when the battery dies out. But then this really distinctive screech/scream came from it. It was mellow but it was noticeable. Well I start to freak out a bit and pull out my phone and for some reason, my phone dies right then and there. It had at least another 30% but it straight up blanks. Well great... then I remembered that the coat had the charger and I grabbed it, ran back inside the campus and charged my phone. So after I turn on the phone, fucking hell... it immediately opened to a few pictures that I never took and they were blurry but I could definitely make out that there were two people. Then I close the app because now I'm scared basically shitless. Not long after, I get the nerve to open it again and.... they were gone. 100% gone. I see a friend of mine there and asks if he wants to go get something to eat (just so I have someone with me in the car) and he agrees to it. So we get to my car and I climb in, all the doors were unlocked. But when my friend tries to get in, the door locks. Just his door. When he moved to the other side, that door locked. He thinks I'm fucking with him at this point until I get out of the car and give him the keys and the same thing happens. And I told him what's been happening and obviously he thinks I'm bullshitting him. So he takes my cousins coat and puts it in his car and closes the door. So I try to start my car and everything was working perfectly so my friend told me I was just freaking out, until something happened. The moment I started my car, the coat jumped and smacked right into my friend's window and he fucking jumps and I nearly piss myself. For some reason, my cousin was behind us and she started screaming and crying. She was worried because I usually come home around 6 and it's 8 at this point and she came right in time to see the coat jump and smacked into the window as I start my car. I wasn't going to scream, but since someone else was doing it, it somehow convinced me to do so. So we got three people screaming in the parking lot in the late evening because of what we thought was a ghost. So what we ended up doing was opening the door to my friends car extremely quickly, tossing the coat onto the ground, and drove off. It didn't move when we drove off but we still wanted to keep an eye on it in case it followed us. For around the next 9 - 12 days, my cousin and I shared a bed because we were really scared and she actually let me bring my shotgun into the house and somehow, either she was really convincing or I'm a dumbass, convinced me to make shotgun shells that fired salt. I made 4 of them. We still have no idea about what happened with the coat and I told my cousin the entire thing that happened and apparently, the same thing happened to her yesterday and that's why she ended up having to have a friend drop her off at home. Although her phone didn't die. Well if you actually read all this, first of all, thank you, and if you have something similar, please let me know. I still feel like I overreacted and there has to be some logical explanation but yeahhhhhh

Nope. I've been to multiple "haunted" destinations and all I found were empty halls and rotting wood. After my grandmother died (I didn't have the chance to say goodbye to her) she appeared in my dream the next day. Not sure if that qualifies as a ghost encounter.. Especially since it might aswell have been my brain trying to calm me down.

Only one I can remember was when I heard someone walking across my friends sisters room. There was no one else home except my friend, dogs and I. Only thing we could think of was my friends sisters dead mother in law. I've also heard a voice in that house once when it was just me baby sitting the friends daughter.

A few things I wonder... Why do so few people see paranormal events, if they are real? Also, why does it always seem to be something that happens at night? Why is it that certain cultures seem to report more paranormal activities than others? The house I grew up in was burned down a few years before my parents bought it. The guy was living with his sister and her family and they had a lot of issues, but they trusted him to watch their daughter. Well, one day while they were out (husband and wife) he decided to for whatever reason, kill the kid(she was about twelve) and rape her(Yes, kill and then have sex.). After wards, he set the house on fire and took off. He was of course, caught and is still alive in jail as far as I know... Anyways... I never saw a thing in the house growing up, despite that or the abandoned graveyard in the woods eright beside us or the house next store that was a field hospital during the civil war. I'd certainly love to see something, but I'm a bit of a skeptic.

Yass half of the weird shit I've experienced was not at night. Also.... I know the Ghost Adventures people do things at night because 1. light interferes with some of their equipment they use for filming and 2. it's convenient if the place is a business or open to the public during the day to do it at night so they have less interference.

Now I'm going to pull from Neko's thread all the things I've posted before on the topic LOL https://maiotaku.com/mytopics/561/mytopics/25909?page=1 < This is Arc's thread but I shared here. I had the bed thing happen once but it wasn't like something got in bed with me, it just seemed like something was near and vibrating the air around me. Had the vibration thing happen again in the house I'm living in. Now the things that have occurred in that house besides that, was things getting knocked over or down from the walls. No big deal. Can be caused by a random rattling and Oklahoma has been having earthquakes more frequently. Uh another time when my friend and her daughter was living there, I saw Syd, the daughter, walk from her room to the bathroom out of the corner of my eye. One door closed at this interval. 15 mins later Syd walks through the front door. My reaction, "Ah hell.." https://www.maiotaku.com/mytopics/331/mytopics/25707?page=4 Once when I was little and in bed asleep I woke up because I heard someone talking. I was always a curious kid, so I investigated. it was dark and everyone was asleep so I followed the sound, it led to this antique cabinet my grandmother had in her bedroom.. The kind that had 4 legs. So there was space between it in the floor. I got down on my hands and knees to look under it and it was just darkness but then I heard a growl. So I hauled ass got in bed with my grandmother under the covers and wrapped myself around her like a boa. So nothing else really happened like that.. For a period of years I didn't live in my grandmas home but then stuff got bad at home, I moved back in. Was probably some of the best couple years of my life ... I was a teenager and always wondered if maybe I was just a kid with an over active imagination. But I rarely felt comfortable in her home alone. Kinda like hairs standing on the back of your neck if you realized you were there and maybe it was real lol ---------------------------- I was pretty dismissive of it all but then when I graduated high school and started jr college I worked at my tribal office (I'm part Cherokee). There was a class I had to have in the mornings so my job worked with me, letting me stay some after hours to make up lost time. I was left alone and had to lock myself in. I had my own office with a desk that was positioned so I could see above my computer monitor to thedoor and the hallway. So la la la I was there typing away and I saw a shadow stream by the door and then a second later I heard a bang on the front door in the lobby which caused the bells on it to jingle. I Went to the lobby and of course no one was there. So I grabbed my shit, unlocked the doors and sat out in my car doing homework before locking up and going to class lol. There were a couple of things leading up to it that I had dismissed. Like one afternoon another girl and I were working in the office heard a crash so we looked around and found a filing cabinet -big wood fucker, had tipped over hitting a wall in a back office. We thought oh maybe the weight wasn't distributed equally with the files. Then the fire exit back by that office would sometimes go off. They said it was faulty wiring in the door. Just a handful of things ya know? The building actually used to be the tribal clinic for a time until they got the funding to build a bigger nicer facility. Now they built a casino into it lol. I kinda want to talk to someone that works there now to see if strange things keep happening but that's a weird conversation starter lol... Oh to add.. After I saw the shadow I think it attached to me. I would be driving home and hear someone say my name either directly in my ear or from the back seat of my car. It really didn't stop until I moved away to university.

Oh there's actually another one. Sometimes when I wake up from a nightmare I feel like can see a person or rather a shadow of a person over me. One that doesn't want me any good. It's like the shadow wants to harm me but my nightmares warn me. I also sleep with a night lamp because of this. So it's not entirely dark either and it still happens. Maybe it's a projection of the horrible things I saw in my nightmare... Maybe not. It's creeping the shit out of me either way.
