Yo! I'm Matt Danger and I love writing about superheroes and over-the-top battle sequences. Sci-fi and sci-fi fantasy are my specialty. I've been writing on and off for almost 15 years now. I mostly write short stories and screenplays, but sadly most of them lay unfinished. Any tips for a guy who needs the motivation to finish the job? I'm open to any advice you guys have! :D

@Matt Just get in there and finish bro. Whenever I get a new idea for a story..first thing I do is write it down, I may not add it to something I've written right away..but! it's always there for reference in the future. Try finishing some of those screenplays and see if you can sell them off, a buddy of mine makes a decent amount of cash doing that. Making money off your work is always motivation, it was for me at least. You've been writing for a while, maybe you should try Ghostwriting. Or finish your work and turn it into a e-book/book of short stories and concepts. Good luck bro

@Matt im gonna say the opposite of Shadow take your time you dont have any finish line so do not rush the end, you can see that through so many books the beginning is nice and clean then you can see the very essence change towards the end you can see it's clearly rushed has a reader that's break my heart, I'd say sit back if you have any idea during the day write them down let it flow naturally

Letting out a long sigh, she moved the mouse to refresh once again. "No ones online..." She grumbled low to herself. "Maybe this sites dead....? It use to be so popular." She spoke to herself, reminded of the time that Maiotaku was a thriving website for fans of anime to meet each other. Her back ached as she arched it, stretching the stiff muscles. Her shoulders still panged from being hunched over the keyboard. The screen lit the small bedroom, illuminating it just enough to see around. Her lap was warmed by the small furry creature sleeping that wouldn't allow her to even move an inch. She wrapped her fingers around the now cold handle of the mug and took a small sip, the warmth and flavor of the green tea washed over her tongue and invigerated her spirit. As the hours passed she kept loyal to the site, refreshing and waiting patiently for an update. When one would come her eyes would widen and her heart would race as she quickly typed up a storm, filling the silent room with a storm of clicks and clacks of her speedy fingers on the keyboard. Finally after a long period of silence from the site, she decided to spend her time more wisely. Like writing a pointless story. She wrote and wrote, putting her already wary finger pads to use, typing out everything she did in a third person story. Her back ached all through but she persisted even yet! Determined to do this pointless task! Panting, she looked over her work. A smile pulled at her lips as she scanned the words and took in just how sad and ronry she truely was. It was then she knew.... She needed a life....

@MattDanger Matt, I know the hard troubles of finishing a story that you have been working on. I am not familiar with your story but I believe the best thing to do to help your writing is to take a step back from your characters a bit. Also read what you have done already. Don’t read it for editing or anything. Print it out and just sit down somewhere quiet and take your time to read it. When I am writing a story, I put myself in the place of the main character. I know what kind of things I want to do when I start but you never know what might happen before the story is finished. If anything, just read the story without editing it or anything. Get a notebook and just write down ideas that you come up while or after reading it. It could be ending of it or something you just want to add. If you want the ending to be a surprise or ending to a battle I would have it end after a good fight scene where you have left no one hanging at the end. Many good stories have an ending you would never guess would happen for the character. If you wish for more help, I don’t mind helping but I am not familiar with Sci-fi or screenplays but I will help anyway I can. I hope my thoughts help you... Matt

I am Kuroshiro (penname). I have no published anything yet, but I am writing a story that is a mixture of genres, but is profusely a psychological horror. It is about the slow degradation of a man and his moral limits as he fights against his id in both the mental and physical battlefield, eventually fusing with it and using his newly realized power to attempt at a world-wide dictatorship for the sake of creating world peace and helping the environment.I have been writing this story in various forms and stages for four years now. As for my favorite writing genre, anything where there is a reason to worry for the main character, either in worrying about their sanity, physical health, or other, as a good conflict can flesh out all other parts of a story if at least a minimal amount of attention is given to other points to the story. A couple of examples for this that are among my personal favorites are; Tokyo Ghoul (the manga) and Berserk (both anime and manga). I hope to create a good bond with this club and send/receive good writing advice.

I want some advice on this for my story, The main character mainly uses black colors while the antagonist of the first arc wears all white, I was planning for these two characters to eventually become fused after the antagonist is defeated, resulting in a change in the main character's hair, a silver strand, and when losing himself in battle later on, I plan for a color swap, resulting in all white with a black strand of hair (in these moments, I plan to switch perspective to one of his victims), showing the slight influence both characters have on each other, and I was planning that near the end of arc 4, the character would have another color change, a black side and a white side split down the middle with a sudden change to all black when the character is in his final moments within the story. How does this sound as an idea, and is there anything I might want to change? Here is a small description of the arcs I have planned. Arc 1: Beginning to the conflict between protagonist and antagonist. Arc 2: Protagonist fails and must come out of depression so that he may try again. Arc 3: Character starts his war to take over all nations for his dictatorship. Arc 4: Rebellion is started by the protagonist's previous friend. Arc 5: Original antagonist returns after protagonist's death. Arc 6: ?
