How reliable and trusting is your police?

marc0, I know what you're talking about! xD I've heard so many stories from my parents and relatives who still live in Mexico.

well it got worse after 2006 because when we were growing up there was no such violence and you could roam the streets at night and day. Now days you got to be careful. I really does missed those days growing up just because the mexican school system is a lot alike as the japanese system so as an anime fan i always love it.

Small town cops are awful. I live in a town that is dominated by cranky, senile old White people. Therefore, the police are always on their side (whether they're actually doing their jobs or not). Growing up and still seeing it today, they discriminate so badly. They always seem to be pulling over anyone who is Black, Hispanic, and/or in their teens. I got pulled over by some in my high school days, but got lucky since i didn't mouth off to them. The older cops aren't too bad since they've been around and know what needs to be done kinda. The younger ones are just assholes who wish there was more action, so they get their kicks pulling over anyone who goes even 5 over the speed limit. Oh, and there's usually a cruiser or two outside the 7Eleven because they gotta go inside, hang out, and get their free stuff. That's my small town cop rant!

Ouch Shinji, your police actually sounds more bad than the ones on my city, and yea Kyetge, police in Mexico is getting more bad with time, still there are really few that do their job.

Well, depends on how you look at things I guess. You can either have small town cops like mine...or you can have big city cops who are just as crooked, if not more because then you have the potential of them being tied to criminal activity like gangs or the mob. Pick your poison.

well, that sucks for an option. but nothing can be much done i guese. cant stand it when they either dont do the job right or abuse it -_-

The Police in my area seem pretty reliable. I was held up at gun point 5 years ago fortunately enough it was a fake gun from what I found out in court, but after the guys took my wallet, and phone, they took off, but as they took off a patrol unit rolled by, and I shouted "Those Guys just robbed me", and he was to cut them off in his car, and apprehend them. Honestly if it wasn't for the constant patrolling in my area I wouldn't of gotten my stuff back. In the end I guess it really matters where you're located in a small town or live in the city, and how under staff your local police station is. I know some places actually put priorities on calls they get. So things like petty theft, noise disturbances, etc are usually put on low priority.

Damn, good thing they were there when it went down. The only real crimes I see in the Police Log section of the town paper are people getting pulled over for minor traffic/vehicle violations who also sometimes happen to have warrants out for their arrest in neighboring communities or states and the occasional drug bust where it tends to be kids I went to high school with.
