I know it's not cool to do this but.....

I know it's not really cool to rant about his but.....please forgive me. Kinda pissed at my workplace right now. Looking at my paycheck that covered New Years day which I worked, they took the time and effort to create a separate slot for "HOLIDAY PAY" *quoting their use of caps too* and yet the don't bother to pay me any more than the usual amount.....really? I'm part time but I don't think that matters with holiday pay though I may be wrong......

I would take your payroll stub to HR or your manager or whomever would be in charge of that sort of thing. Every company is different as well as state laws when it comes to OT, and sometimes you need to be a fulltime employee to get overtime or holiday pay or whatever you want to call it. It also could have been a payroll error too so I'd make sure you ask someone about and make sure you were eligible for any holiday pay be it time and a half or whatever the standard would be for your company.

You have HR for a reason, ask them. Holiday pay is not a guarantee, just an incentive. Also, if you called out the day before or after, a lot of places won't give you holiday pay.
