You've been such a good friend to Dale. Remembering the old times, you still go out late and get into all kinds of schenanigans. Little by little you notice it's not just his body that's changed, but so has he. Before the accident he was fun but kept to himself, you were really the only person he ever opened up to. Now he seems more confident. He doesn't go out of his way to talk to everyone but he certainly doesn't cave in when he's approached. He handles everything calmly and coolly and ... Gracefully? Weeks go by and more and more your admiration for him grows. He is the perfect person. To you the perfect woman? Wait, WHAT?! You think to yourself ... No no no! You still resist those thoughts of your friendship growing into affection. Then Dale comes to a hault.. You see the foot cop no longer chasing you as you both had been toliet papering the mayor's house. Dale turns to you and says"You know, this isn't so bad. I don't think I would go back to how I was if the opportunity presented itself. The doctors keep checking me out every week, taking samples of everything just to see if anything abnormal appears.. But I feel great!" She kicks a can in the street. "Do you think I'm pretty?" She asks out of no where... "Uhhhh...." Is all you can muster. She turns away from you, her shoulders sag..."yeah, that's what I thought." She's obviously disappointed at your response but you want to console her... "You're my best friend... If I think you're beautiful, it doesn't matter." She turns and kisses you quickly.....Question: Now do you hit that?

@veru I can think of a lot of outcomes to this >> but I'd still say no id continue to be her friend and help her on her path like I would always do. I wouldn't mind "hitting" it but I feel its more of a desperation or fear of whats to come thing on her part.

This afternoon you checked the mail and found a letter addressed to you from her, the invitation to her wedding to Thomas Gantsworth, the mayor.
