This is another reason why PC is better than Mac

arc
I prefer using a PC over a Mac for various reasons, but I just found out a new reason; Microsoft has an anime fetish. Check it out: http://www.theverge.com/2013/11/7/5076356/microsoft-anime-character-photo-essay WAAAT? Microsoft has an anime?!? http://youtu.be/WiqiwVGyVVI

When it comes to gaming I will admit that Windows computers are better than Macs. But when it comes to entertainment, video editing, school work, and various other duties I believe Mac has the absolute advantage. Bought my first Mac about 4 years ago and I have 2 now. I do have a windows computer but I rarely mess with it.

A big problem I often run across with macs is that they don't know what the hell to do with japanese software and translation software. I also hate how icons are laid out on a mac. It always bothered me, especially the way windows constantly hide behind one another. As far as video editing and music development, I do think macs have the edge, though. If I do get a Mac, it would be for those purposes.

The OS design is the biggest reason I originally got a mac, it so smooth and I love it to death lol. I've never really tried to use much Jap software except for visual novels, but I had no issues with those.

I wouldn't say they have an anime fetish, they're just trying desperately to appeal to the Japanese who really don't like Microsoft much.

I'm heavily invested in the apple ecosystem mainly due to having to use logic and protools. I've tried protools on a pc and it was just not good :/

ProTools was made for a MAC from the start and sucks without the special DSP cards. The software only version for PC was crap when I tried it too. I was bummed because I worked in a ProTools studio for a while and fell in love with the platform. I love MACs for media production machines but that is where the love stops. I need a PC as a MAC is not powerful enough for most of my day to day purposes. I do development on custom hardware and enterprise networking equipment so I need the customization capabilities only a PC offers with Linux or Windows. I work on many platforms and a dozen OSs. I have always been of the mind that the right computer is the one the user is the most comfortable and productive on to get the task done. That is never going to be the same for every person/task.

The only thing Macs have over PCs is uniformity, to be honest. You get to choose one of various packages that suit your needs or price-class and you're done. Everything is put together according to certain specifications in mind, leaving little room for customization. With PCs it's a lot more pick-and-choose. While this can make things a bit trickier, it does allow a much greater freedom when it comes to customizing your computer. Because of this you can get budget computers that are cheap but not very powerful, to absolute monsters that can handle heavy graphic processing with ease.

^exactly this. I have an iphone and it pisses me off that I can't customize it or get rid of the bloatware on it.

I think they have there trade off's, But I mostly use a window's computer. But I do admit I have an Ipod touch 5th gen. But lately I have been using my HTC phone a whole lot more then my ipod for music and just random things like flashlight, store information and stuff like that so I'm thinking if your going to talk about Windows and mac, may as well trough in Andriod/linux unless your talking strate up hardware but i'm thinking most of the hardware is pretty similar its mostly software that differs.Heck there even slowly comeing out with computers bassed on android software. But I guess its always price vs value depending on what you have to what you can get in the end XD lol....sorry rambaling new to the site and just trying to step my foot in the door :P
