Silent Hill

I still haven't finished Shattered Memories and Downpour. Have Origins but haven't played it. 1-5 were good. Controls on 1 were horrible, 2 they were somewhat better... Storyline was less cheesy-plus intro to Pyramid Head, 3 was sequel to first story and quite good. 4 was another random story-introduced ghosts-very creepy, 5 return of Pyramid Head YAY!!

Is Silent Hill 5 really that good? I never played it because it was written by Americans trying to revive the series. Devout fans as they are, I couldn't shake the feeling that it wasn't canon since the developers changed.

They did well on 5... It was Downpour that kinda had me pissed off. But 5 was better than expected. Why? You could tell the people that made it were fans, hence the return/cameo of Pyramid Head.

Quick Review of not Team silent games 0 Or 0rigins is a good game on the psp and is worth playing, The PS2 version on the other hand is not. Homecoming is trying to be like the Silent Hill Movie and has more of an America horror vibe to it.Sadly it broken and in certain parts it game breaking. Shattered Memories is a great retelling of the first game and use the Wii remote well. Worth Playing Downpour is a great game sadly it has a lot of glitches and frame rate issues. Book of Memories is not really a Silent Hill Game but is worth a look at if you like dungeon crawler. Saddle none of them are as good as the first 3

Massive Silent Hill fan here :D Played and loved all the games in the main series (Homecoming probably being the weakest but I still loved it) - hell I even consider Silent Hill 2 to be one of the greatest games of all time, an absolute masterpiece of survival horror. Sadly I don't see a proper Silent Hill coming out ever again since Konami (Silent Hill's Publisher) has hit rock bottom.

I have to say Silent hill is one of my favourite series of games. I have played 1,2,3,4 and currently have homecoming which I plan to start soon. I found out that Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka is doing a tour in the UK the end of this month which I would love to go to but I have nobody who wants to go with me and no cash :(

I mostly enjoyed Downpour. The level design was great! Especially in that big monastery or church or whatever it was. I guess I got lucky in missing any bugs. Or they were minor enough for me to not remember them. Something I would recommend to OP-er or anyone thinking about picking the game up is to be sure to get ALL of your exploring throughout the city done with before completing too much of the main story line. I missed my chance for much exploring so the ending felt like it came too soon, too abruptly.
