Meaning your definition can be included into term backpacking as a sub-culture, but it's not it's only definition. Sorry, it just personally irks me you deny a definition that is publicly accepted. but ok, i'll stop as you don't seem to care about it.

Lmao, I don't care what wikipedia says. It has messed up my homework multiple times due to false information. :D But yes, by general definition it is backpacking. To me not because to me backpacking literally is living off the backpack with the only exception being stuff you can't bring along i.e. food and drinks. No hard feelings. And I don't deny it. :o

I can't imagine a worse backpacking hell than trudging through 'Murica. Be wary of mountain zones and forests. If you hear suttle strums of the banjo, they're signaling and have found you.
