You have two options: Acoustic or Electric. I went Electric when I got my first. I'm just assuming you're a beginner. For electric, get something like a Squier (Fender's beginner brand) or a cheap Ibanez. They're geared more towards beginners and will help you figure out if you want to keep going or not. I suggest getting a guitar that's around the $300 price range. For amps, Fender makes a good cheap amp, so I'd pick up one of those. A 15 Watt amp should be plenty for what you need. That may be between 100 and 200, depends on the amp. With acoustic, you don't need to worry about amps and all that. A good acoustic in your price range for a beginner would be between 200 and 500 Euros or so, at least for a beginner, I'd guess. I suggest this route, because you could absolutely be spending more if you go electric as a first timer.

It's absolutely an investment. And so is the time you spend into it. Unfortunately, not everyone enjoys this investment, which is why I suggest going cheaper first until you get the hang of it, then go "balls deep", so to say. And if you want electric, go for it! I recommended acoustic because it was cheaper, but do you man lol.

Oh hey, I might me able to help with this. Of course it is up to you how you want to do things but I think starting with a cheaper guitar is DEFINITELY the way to go. My dad got me my first guitar with dreams to be a rock star. Its was a approximately $600 (U.S.) 7 string Gibson Les Paul and it was niiiice. But it also turned me away from playing music. I always felt overwhelmed because it was just too much guitar for me. Years later I bought a used starter guitar off of someone for $20 and I fell in love. With that first guitar I didn't have the trained ear to appreciate its sound. I also didn't have the skill to take care of it properly and that concern helped turn me off it as well. But with a cheap guitar it didn't matter how harshly I played and it didn't need to sound good. By the time you start getting skilled enough to be able to appreciate a higher quality guitar you will probably have a better idea of what kind of music you want to play. And you will probably want a new guitar around that time that will better suit that style. I also recommend starting with an electric and a "Pocket Rocket." The smaller body size is easier for beginners to handle than an acoustic. As well as more comfortable. And the Pocket Rocket is a little battery operated "headphone amp" with very simple settings. Though if you are more interested in acoustics then just aim for one with a smaller body size. And yeah the Fender Squires are good beginner guitars. But stay away from the Showmasters or anything with a Floyd Rose bridge. It can be hard for a beginner. Do you have a specific type of sound or music you want to play? I could give you an idea of what to aim for.

Your better off going to a music shop and asking them for advice. They will probably be able to recommend a decent starter guitar. A plus side is any money you save on your budget you could use on guitar lessons to help you learn faster.

My first guitar I bought from my job for 200. It came with the amp. I thought I'd have given it away but I've grown attached. It's not the best thing by far but I love it. I would suggest buying used. My second guitar would normally have been $900 US new. But I ordered it used from guitar center and plus shipping it was $350. For practicing tips I can only suggest two things. One, buy an amp with an MP3 jack. It's so motivating and you learn so much from just jamming along to your favorite songs. Two, Youtube is your friend...

Maybe try playing an Ibanez beginner electric guitar with at least one hummbucker pickup. I think it would work for that kind of music. If you go to a guitar shop they usually always let you try different guitars with different amps so you can figure out what you like. It all sounded the same to me when I was a beginner though.
