Do you separate your real life preference from your anime crush?

tsuneharu
Are you genuinely attracted to "realistic" people or do you want your real life love interest to look like your animated waifu/husbando? What's your preference for a real date? Can they look like your average Joe/Jane or do they have to show up looking like your typical idealized anime character?

I don't even know what the hell that means

I don't really have a preference in a date. I'm more for what's in the heart.

@neko prince panda-kun :3 Yandere. That is a word I feel like I should have known since I watch a lot of anime with those kinds of girls.

While I do have an anime crush, Yukinoshita from SNAFU, I like her for her personality. I guess it would be fair to say I do look for similarities between her and real people however I understand that anime characters typically have exaggerated personalities and don't look for an exact copy.

I'd say my anime crushes tend to resemble my IRL preferences, in looks and personality. There are some outliers, just as IRL.

Sometimes liking an anime character speaks a lot about the person that does this. Sometimes not. One can like an anime character for certain characteristics that can be either realistic or unrealistic depending on the character. Of course, people dream about getting to know someone in the real life that's just as thrilling and has a complex personality like most anime characters do. I, personally, think that, obviously without counting on the life experiences this fake characters have being through and that these experiences are the reason why those personalities are complex to begin with, there are actually people that are even more complex than anime characters. I think real people is more fascinating than just fake personalities created by some random author's creativity. If I said I'd like for that significant other to have qualities that I found I liked in anime characters, I guess, I'd still look for those characteristics that make me be interested in someone since those characteristics are inspired in someone real and in my whole deals I've lived in this world. So it's not wrong to say I like my men like my anime husbandos? Haha I think I don't put too much difference on what I'm looking in a man except for what is obviously impossible in this existance like super human strength or something lol. However I'd like them to be smart, cunning, hardworker, serious and to have some flaws why not. I don't think an anime character is cool when is all flawless that's just not something I will ever be interested in.

@mariahaise Nice one. You put a lot of thought into that...more than I expected anyone to do. You sound like a smart girl that knows what she wants.
