I watched Ninja Scroll, I was four or so. I didn't understand why that girl had a finger crawl up her. I do now.

17, extremely bored. i went on an anime site, looked at the alphabet and saw akame ga kill. i think it was because it had kill in it that i started watching. my friend showed me anime though, though we watched an animated movie together (in kind of japanese style)

Mine was Good Luck! Nimomiya-kun. Up until then all I watched Naruto, Zatch Bell and One Piece every once in a while. I decided to look for an anime that was more romantic than the main fighting ones I had seen before, one day after rewatching Zatch Bell for nostalgia (used to watch it every night on Toonami as a kid). I think I found Good Luck! Nimomiya-kun in a top 10 list or something. I binge-watched the series in a couple of days during winter break of high school. Around that time, I was going through some very tough battles mentally(rather not talk about it :P) and I truly believe to this day that it saved me. I was seriously the happiest I had ever been, it was amazing. Had no idea there were such powerful stories out there. I'm pretty sure I was crying by the end hahaha but I've been an anime nerd ever since. (it was a pretty good anime too if anyone's interested)
