What is the 1st anime you watched that turned you into an Otaku??

The first ones I watched back in 2000/2001 were Dragon Ball, Jibaku-kun and Pokémon, I was only 4/5 yo though. Then in 2002 I got addicted to Dragon Ball Z, Pokémon, Sakura Card Captors and Sailor Moon due to family influence. After that in 2003 there was a really cool anime called Slayers, it was love at first sight. I never missed an episode. There were also Tenchi Muyo!, El Hazard, Ranma 1/2, Saint Seiya, Captain Tsubasa, but Slayers was always my favourite. But the ones that turned me into an "otaku" were the first one I downloaded in 2010/2011 (I don't remember the exact date), Koihime Musou, followed by Love Hina, Akira and Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu. Steel Angel Kurumi also, but it's a long story.

First anime that made me go really crazy for a franchise was Dangan Ronpa for me, and honestly it's still my favorite anime/videogame of all time <3

the shows that really got me into anime are all the old late night airings of shows like Dbz, tenchi muyo, inuyasha ( my first access to anime before the days of streaming anime T_T "the dark ages"

For the first one I watched I was so young that I don't actually remember it. I definitely liked it tho, so it counts. The earliest I actually know the name of (only actually because I saw it again years later) is Battle Angel Alita.
