Sexually Objectifying Men In Cinema

verucassault
Curious to what people's thoughts are in this. Fangirls can get pretty crazy, it's true, but my interest is primarily in movies, i.e. Magic Mike, Fifty Shades of Grey. Is it a good thing that men can now be objectified as easily as women have been so often in cinematic history? Positives? Negatives? Opinions welcome!

Many of the guys I know won't really care. I sure don't. Seeing as a lot of boys in their teen years see it as their life's mission to get laid, they probably wish they were the men in the movies with girls fawning over them.

I don't find it appealing, just like I'm certain straight girls don't find it appealing to see naked women. Does it bother me? A little, not much though, I just rather not look at a guy naked ya know hahaha, Does it ruin the movie, no, does it annoy me, not really I mean girls have been subjected to it for years, So why should I care if we get the same treatment. Though to be fair I've never been a fan of even naked women in movies, Well I mean sure it's attractive, but it rarely adds anything to the story, and I get my guilty pleasure from watching gory fight scenes, not soft porn *Shrugs*, still nothing particularly wrong with it I suppose, just not my thing. It's just movies, not like they are going on stage themselves and getting naked. Just my two cents hahahaha.

Hmm... Hey weren't the Greeks or Romans kinda into that?

I didn't watch those movies. I can say that I don't care if men are objectified in those movies since males still get the predominately better protagonist and villain roles in other, better movies compared to women.

i like this instead of worrying about sexualizing only women lets just do both tbh

If it happens to women, should not be a problem for men (that is, if it's not problem for women.) I rarely watch that kind of stuff regardless; men/women; w.e. objectifying people is bad period. Though, I'm guilty a bit
