I realize that, but even if they didn't mention it on their profile out of fear of social stigma, that still tells me that it's not important enough to them to specifically seek someone for whom that was a priority. I'd rather meet someone who was proud of what they loved to do.

I've been on OkCupid and POF for over a year now I think and yeah, they're awful. It's probably 5x worse living in Kansas too, I think I've decided it's a dead zone for this kind of thing. But I'll keep chucking away.

I feel like Maiotaku may not have alot of members, but because of that we all get to know eachother in a group. Does that make sense? People are nicer here, I would think, because we have all been there. On the bad side of the fence where people just don't get why we love anime. I really like that it's small. But that's just me ^.^

Most girls don't bother to message me back on okaycupid, they usually visit my profile and that's as far as it goes. POF is even worse. Both sites are just stupid, I wonder why a lot of women even make profiles. It's funny when they put must not be seeking sexual encounter, must be taller than me, must not do drugs, must not this, must no that, so you're looking for a robot or someone that doesn't exist.

I have a disabled OKCupid account, but I'll activate every once in a while to see if there are some new people. I've exchanged messages with a few people, but they seem to suddenly stop replying. I have a few private email addresses, but I'm not sure I should send a message to ask why they disappeared. Other than the normal frustrations of not being able to find anyone who I can relate to, I think the site isn't terrible. Some of the problems with online dating for otakus just seems to be an extension of offline dating problems, where most of the people you encounter aren't going to understand you.

My experience with dating websites Plenty of fish: Every woman I have met and dated are compulsive liars. They hide things and make an online persona about who they are that simply are not true. For years I have had an account with no luck. Okcupid: I have never had luck on that website Meetme: Full of drug addict narcissist's Mai otaku: The women I have spoke to on here that I correspond with have turned out to be quite judgmental and might I say batshit crazy. Not saying all women on here are like that. Just the ones ive talked to. Myspace was the most successful website I used for dating. I used it back in 2006. But now its only a music website.

To be honest i think most Dating site are utter bullshit. Most people lie and the people that don't lie have to sort through all the phonies. Most of them feed of people insecurities by asking for money to even contact a person, and for the most part completely useless unless you subscribe for like 15-30 bucks a month. Im new to Mai otaku but i suspect it will be the same. Message someone, get nothing back, look at the few people in my area, and then leave it alone for 2 weeks. I only really like this one because its anime themed. My opinion ( and i'm a shy guy) is that you have a better chance of just asking a random girl on the street to talk to you then you have a chance of getting most people of the relationship interest to message you back on a dating site. But damn it we still gonna try to get our otaku mens and fens lol

Weel, it's my first time here and I tried okcupid and from what you guys are saying it's soooo true. Girls will say message me if you like this, or that, but honestly they don't even reply. A lot of shallow people there I guess. Just giving this website out , I can see people are more positive and friendly here, and more anime gamer fans for sure. Question is it worth it to sign up for a premium account?

I don't really think it's a question of "is it worth it?" it's more of a question of "do I support this idea enough to pay for it." Like kickstarter or something.
