Why do people hate gays?

I think the separation of church and state should be absolute and total. They should have absolutely nothing to do with each other. Unfortunately that would mean no tax breaks for churches, aww so sad.

Buuut.... You don't have to get married at a church to begin with. Go out on the streets, find random person, go to court house, pay small fee, sign papers and boom, married. Marriage is a legal thing, the church part is just bells and whistles. I agree, if two consenting adults want to get married, why shouldn't they be allowed to? A church can deny it, but then again, churches are private entitis and not as public as a you'd like to think. If they don't like you, they have the right to just keep you off their property. Now, what I don't like is being told I have to accept gay marriage. Sure, I agree with equal treatment/rights, but that doesn't mean I have to particularly like and agree on a moral level. I will not stand in another's way, make fun of or be agressive, I just have my personal opinions which legally speaking, should not affect anyone. On the basic human level, I'm all for it...I know, it sounds confusing, but it really isn't.

^thats how any movement starts though. People need to talk about it, discuss it, change people's minds to get things rolling. This could have been avoided during the media-roids era if it had just been done ? years ago.

Go back to your first post after mine. You implied people didn't "THINK" and since smug and FOX were in the same statement I can assume you meant me. Further more after that you took my perfectly calm comment regarding the theory and study and called it bullshit. If that's not lighting a match around kerosine I don't know what is.
