nagato yuki-chan

Thoughts on this new take on the franchise? Most people I know absolutely hate all the changes, what's your take on it?

well, the premiss and plot has nothing to do with the old kyoani series, the character designs, their VAs, and the character relationships with each other are all completely different. yuki's change being the most drastic one.

Basically it's starting around Nagato, taking a slice of life approach, but later on it ends up turning into the same-old case, Haruhi being the center of attention, even though it still revolves around Nagato quite a bit. I think it seems more like a story telling from the movie(The disappearance of Haruhi), but minus the other world Kyon. A pretty good story, minus the action, but pluses with a fresh new approach and making Nagato a lot cuter, although it's still too soon to tell where this story will go. Only thing I don't like: The same-old pushiness of Haruhi. (I don't like pushy people)

Well as neet-one said, it doesn't really follow the story of the original, but it is something worth watching. To me I think it follows the movie a bit, from some bits of it, but again it's too soon to know where this will go.

It's a worldline where Haruhi isn't god(Yes, hard to believe) but being slightly different, such as no original Kyon is here to operate, just that worldline Kyon, you'll have to watch it to get what I mean. So not the same, but I wouldn't say a mirror.

I was only able to see three episodes (not sure how many are out now), but the whole series (both the manga and anime) are awesome! Mostly because I find emotional Yuki positively adorable, but then that's just me, so yeah.

I agree, before she was a kuudere/dandere alien, now they've made her very moe and innocent. This gives a whole new element, even though it doesn't have the suspense as the original story, still, this is a very good slice of life! Currently there are 4 episodes aired.
