Have you ever used a quote from an anime in an essay?

I'm totally guilty of this. If you any of you also did, which quote?

Back when I was still in high school, we had an English teacher with a very interesting personality when it came to his assignments. He requested during the 2nd half of October an essay based around us choosing one character of any kind/origin based on their spookiness/fear inducement. This also included fiction. I chose Shigure, surgeon of the damned from Yu Yu Hakusho (nostalgia.) The quote I used: "Everyone screams. The only question is, what will you say?"

I haven't quoted anime before, but I did get some ideas for essays from anime. However, I really, really would like to use a quote from Rurouni Kenshin in an essay on international politics where Okubo Toshimichi says in episode 30, "It is far more difficult to raise a new era than to break an old one." I did quote video games in the essay for my high school senior project. Also, I wrote an essay in college on what law enforcement could learn from Batman. Oh and I talked about an essay I wrote for fun about Pokemon in a medical school interview.

I used the sentence from the first volume of Bleach on my art course work "We fear that which we cannot see...", I actually got a higher grade for that :P

Not an anime but a video game. The question was the usual "where do you see yourself in 10 years" and I quoted Solid Snake: "A strong man doesn't need to see the future, he makes his own". It did not have great effect, as the teacher gave me the lowest grade for nonsense and unfulfilled lines quota.

Dozens of times. My teachers tend to laugh when they look at my reference sheets. Like hahaha he quoted Master splinter. I say if they are word that and enhance of even validate you point or point of view why not use it. Just make sure to give credit where credit is due. I actually used my favorite quote from Baccano in one of my essays and clearly validated my point to my Instructor.
